About Brna

Brna is situated on the southern side of the island of Korčula in a beautiful sunny bay surrounded by forests. On the western side is the Mali Zaglav peninsula, which separates Brna from Istruga bay, whilst on the southeast side there are several beautiful hidden bays with pebble beaches and clear blue sea.

The climate is Mediterranean, with long warm summers and short mild winters. The west wind or ‘Maestral’ brings a refreshing breeze on hot summer days.

Brna's bay is deep and sheltered and is therefore a safe haven for boats of all types and is a favourite among the yachting community. The adjoining bay of Istruga at it's deepest is 6 meters and the shallow half of the bay is covered with beds of healthy prehistoric 'Liman' mud, which has been used as a cure for inflamatory rheumatic diseases and other maladies for hundreds of years.

The entire area is surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation, pine forests, olive groves, citrus fruit and fig trees as well as vineyards, there are many interesting walks both inland and on the coast.

In the Spring you can find many wild flowers, including rare orchids and in Summer the aroma of the wild Mediterranean herbs, sage, lavender, rosemary and immortelle, scent the air. In Autumn come for the grape harvest or later in October when the olives are picked.

Brna offers a unique combination of beautiful surroundings and fun, swimming, dingy sailing, wind surfing, canoeing, snorkling, fishing and many other land based activities too.

Family friendly accommodation is available to suit all your needs, whether in the hotel or in a beautiful, privately owned, apartment or villa. All the restaurants serve traditional Dalmatian food and the local Pošip wine.
